Street improvements for the Walnut Street Improvement Project Phase 2. 91226 91336 90924 90930 90931 Demolition - There is a Bradford Pear located under an overhead power line that needs to be removed - tree and stump. Grading - Cherry trees will be planted in the area between the railroad track and the road. This area will receive hydroseed. This area needs to be graded to allow for the future planting. Grassing - the areas for grassing will include the Phase 1 and Phase 2 disturbed areas. Hydroseeding is included in the base bid and sodding is included in the add alternates. All areas will be grassed - so all areas will need to be prepped for grassing. The entire area from the active railroad and trestles to Riverside and Walnut Streets should be cleaned, prepped and grassed. Tree Planting - The landscape plan in the bid package includes proposed tree planting in the Phase 2 work on this project. To finish the entire project area cherry trees are proposed between the on-grade railroad track and Riverside Drive. Deadline for submitting questions is Friday, October 9, 2026, at 3:00 pm. Questions must be submitted via email to lhardwick@maconbibb.us.
