Demolition, site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Irvine, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and laboratory facility.
The proposed project will demolish hydronic heating boilers and steam generators in the Health Sciences district and install backup electric heating systems, electric steam generators, and/or extend central heating water throughout the district. Buildings impacted by this project are primarily laboratory buildings: Beckman Laser Institute, Berk Hall, Gillespie Neuroscience Research Facility, Gross Hall, Hewitt Hall, Irvine Hall, Plumwood House, and Sprague Hall. Work will primarily take place in electrical rooms, mechanical rooms, and on roofs. Modifications to zones are not anticipated, as existing building steam and heating hot water infrastructure will be reused to the maximum extent possible. Bonds: 10% Bid Bond, 100% Payment Bond, 100% Performance Bond.
