Design-build services for the assessment, design, and construction of HVAC improvements at two school facilities, including J.B. Nelson Elementary School and Batavia High School C-wing. J.B. Nelson Elementary School The existing building is single- story, designed in 1955 with additions designed in the 1960s and 1990. Address aging equipment, including but not limited to the chiller, unit ventilators, air handlers, ceiling unit ventilators, exhaust fans, and supporting infrastructure. Assess HVAC piping and domestic-water piping separately, including existing galvanized piping; much of existing piping is located within tunnels below the building. Identify replacement needed to protect new equipment, maintain reliable service, and avoid premature failure. Include necessary electrical , controls, structural, architectural, site, and restoration work. Batavia High School C-wing Limit work to the two-story 1995 addition and systems serving it, including but not limited to unit ventilators, ceiling unit ventilators, exhaust fan connections to the building automation system, and supporting infrastructure. Develop practical phases over school breaks or multiple years. Identify initial infrastructure, future connections, temporary services, and opportunities to avoid repeated work. Each completed phase must function safely and reliably without depending on an unapproved future phase. Consider other system types within the building for future building-wide operation and maintenance.
