Reconstruction of the NE Butler Market Road and NE Boyd Acres Road intersection and traffic signal, construction of walking and bicycling facilities, utility improvements, roadway rehabilitation, and associated signing, striping, illumination and landscaping. Anticipated Notice to Proceed: December 16, 2026 Completion Date: October 30, 2027 The Engineer's Estimate is $ 3,800,000 to $4,850,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The Project consists of constructing walking and biking improvements along NE Butler Market Road from NE Boyd Acres Road to NE 8th Street and includes reconstruction of the traffic signal at the intersection of NE Butler Market Road and NE Boyd Acres Road. The Work includes installation of new traffic signals and detection systems along with intersection safety improvements at NE Butler Market Road and NE Boyd Acres Road, ADA facilities, sidewalk infill , dedicated bike lanes and cycle tracks, reconstruction of existing driveways, retaining walls, signing and striping, illumination, and landscaping and irrigation. Utility improvements include storm sewer upgrades, minor waterline appurtenance relocations and adjustments, and adjustments to irrigation district infrastructure. A grind and inlay will be constructed on the existing pavement throughout the project footprint. Franchise utility relocations will occur in conjunction with the project. Known utility conflicts, anticipated relocation activities and anticipated timelines are summarized in Exhibit I - Franchise Utility Conflict Tracker. The Contract Documents include two separate Drawing sets: Butler Market/Boyd Acres Intersection Improvements (Project No. 1TBKE) and Butler Market Key Route Improvements (Project No. 1GBBA). Although the Traffic Control Plans are contained within the Butler Market/Boyd Acres Intersection Improvements plan set, the traffic control stages, roadway closures, detours, and sequencing requirements shown therein apply to and reflect work performed under both plan sets. Location of Project: The project is located along NE Butler Market Road, extending from the existing 8th Street roundabout on the east end to the NE Boyd Acres Road intersection on the west end. The NE Boyd Acres Road intersection will also be reconstructed as part of this project. Improvements at the intersection of NE Butler Market Road, NE Boyd Acres Road, and NE Longfellow Court will extend several hundred feet along each approach to tie into existing conditions.
