Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in Westland, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.

Question Deadline 10/08/2026 at 4:00 PM ET All inquiries, questions, etc. concerning the RFP shall be forwarded via email to City Controller, Devin Adams, at dadams@cityofwestland.com and Chief Innovation Officer, Craig Brown, at cbrown@cityofwestland.com. Installation of door access control system at the Friendship Center. City of Westland is requesting proposals from qualified firms interested in installing new door access controls at our Senior Friendship center. The following tasks will be required to fulfill this Scope of Work: 1. Purchase and installation of eleven (11) card readers for door access with the appropriate REX device on the other side of the door, if applicable. 2. Purchase and installation of any required door strike or latch hardware to work with the access control systems. 3. Integration of the door access readers into the existing AccessIT Universal system used by the City. 4. Purchase and installation of the appropriate door access control system control panels for this system. The tasks listed above are to be used as a guideline of the RFP . The purpose of the proposal is to install all the hardware required and configure the existing software for the doors to be properly secured at all times and accessible through the City's existing control system and could potentially include additionally steps in order to fulfill the intent of the RFP . There are two exterior doors that are to be replaced under a separate project that the bidder would need to coordinate the installation of the door access control unit with. Additionally, there is a third door that needs to be installed that would also need coordination for door access control unit installation. The proposal is to be all inclusive of what is required to fulfill this goal as this RFP is intended to be a turnkey solution. If the bidder is interested in providing a separate quote for the installation of the three doors, we welcome the additional quote for that project. Technical Specifications 1. The door readers are to be compatible with the City's existing RS2 Technologies AccessIT! Universal software. 2. The readers need to be able to read standard HID ProxCard II cards. 3. Control panel required for the functionality of the door access control system to be included. This includes a sufficient number of control boards for the doors in place. 4. Battery backups to be included for the control panel. 5. The REX units to be included and set for motion detection. 6. Exterior doors need to be card access controls on the outside of the building but be able to push through without a REX from the inside. That way when someone walks past an exterior door it does not inadvertently release a door that no one is walking through. 7. All required configurations within the existing software to be included within the scope of this RFP. This includes the creation of a new site and all access levels, macros, tasks, schedules, etc. We will be providing the initial drawing for the building with the locations of where the security items are to be installed. This solution is to be turn key for installation so it must include any cabling hooks, straps, conduit, and any other required hardware to fulfill this installation. The following additional specifications also apply: 1. All network cabling required to be cat 6 plenum rated. 2. All cat 6 cabling to be purple in color to denote security item . 3. All cabling to be properly dressed and tested. 4. Wire hangers, ladder trays, etc. to be installed as necessary. 5. Any electrical requirements to be coordinated with the building contractor's electrical subcontractor and not be included within this RFP. 6. All other required cabling for the door access system to be provided by the bidder and included within this RFP. 7. The bidder shall provide a diagram in a Microsoft Visio Format or Adobe PDF showing the wiring topology between the devices involved in this solution. There is an existing control panel for panic buttons with a connection to the City main control server so networking is not required. The technical specifications provided are guidelines to be used by the vendor while developing the bids, are not designed to be all- inclusive, and are subject to change based on any changes determined necessary by the City. Once the bids are received, additional requirements can be added by the City if communicated to all parties in a reasonable timeframe so that the vendors can adjust their bids accordingly
