Devil’s Kitchen is a full-service restaurant located on the fourth floor of Colorado Mesa University’s Hotel Maverick on the CMU campus in Grand Junction, Colorado. The restaurant includes an indoor dining area and rooftop outdoor dining space that provides views of not only campus, but the surrounding Book Cliffs and Colorado National Monument. The Hotel Maverick is a 60-room boutique teaching hotel that supports hands-on educational opportunities for CMU students, including business and culinary programs. The Devil’s Kitchen facility operates as a public-facing dining establishment within the university environment and is an important component of the Hotel Maverick’s hospitality and educational functions. The project will involve construction work within an active university and hospitality environment. The selected Design-Builder will be expected to coordinate construction activities with CMU, Hotel Maverick operations, guests, students, faculty, staff, and other campus activities to minimize disruption and maintain safe access throughout the project. The Design-Builder shall provide all necessary coordination, construction, protection, temporary facilities, phasing, and site management required to successfully complete the work while maintaining the operational needs of the surrounding facilities.
