Demolition for a municipal facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility.
Demolition of the Peacock Blocks site. The project Base Bid consists of demolition of a six-plex (841-853 W. 400 South), three single family homes (857, 859, and 865 W. 400 South) and associated outbuildings down to natural ground level in preparation for future development. B. The following description is an outline of the work to be accomplished. The Scope of Work is as described in this document and any addenda issued by the Salt Lake City Community Reinvestment Agency (CRA). No drawings or technical specifications are provided. Bidders are responsible for verifying existing site conditions during the mandatory pre-bid site visit. C. Base Bid: Demolition and removal of all existing buildings down to the lowest level of the structure, including complete removal of all above-ground and below-ground elements such as superstructures, basements, cellars, retaining walls, foundations, and footings. Demolition will proceed down to natural ground level. Demolition will include removing all utility lines and capping at the main. Following demolition, all excavated voids resulting from the removal of substructures shall be backfilled using structural, non-expansive road-base or granular borrow (Class A- 1 , A- 1-a or A-1-b), and lot should be graded to match surrounding levels. All excavations requiring replacement fill of 24" or more shall be compacted to 90% maximum dry density. Independent, third-party testing is required following compaction of the first lift to verify compaction methods are sufficient to achieve the required density. CONTRACTOR will be responsible for public safety on and surrounding project properties, providing appropriate barricades or fencing for pedestrian safety during demolition. If the demolition is to take more than 10 days on any site, CONTRACTOR shall install a temporary fence around the perimeter of the property. D.
