Dickens Ave between 73rd Street and 74th Street; 75th Street West Street End; 73rd Street & Wayne Ave; Wayne Ave between 73rd & Bruce Street; Wayne Ave & Michael St; Gary Ave & Raymond Street The Park View Canal is a critical waterway within the City of Miami Beach that ultimately discharges into Biscayne Bay, a designated aquatic preserve and vital ecological resource. Historically, the canal has suffered from poor water quality due to untreated stormwater runoff entering through multiple outfalls. Elevated levels of fecal indicator bacteria, nutrients, and hydrocarbons have rendered the canal unsafe for recreational use, which can contribute to the broader water quality concerns of Biscayne Bay. This project targets seven (7) strategically selected outfalls for the installation of Hydrodynamic Separator (HDS) systems, to intercept and treat stormwater before it reaches the canal. These systems operate via gravity flow, making them ideal for retrofitting into existing infrastructure with minimal energy or maintenance demands. By capturing sediments, oils, floatable, and associated pollutants, the HDS units will significantly reduce contaminant loads and improve water quality in both the canal and downstream receiving waters. The work set forth in these contract documents includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, services, and incidentals necessary to complete the required work.
