City of Davenport, Iowa is accepting bids from qualified vendors for the Freight House Tuckpointing project. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, all necessary labor, equipment and materials required to perform Work as indicated on the Drawings and Specifications,and as follows: Grinding and re-pointing of mortar joints throughout the facility. Removal and replacement of damaged masonry units at various locations throughout the facility. Removal, painting, and reinstallation of the existing box light fixture. Excavation and installation of new retaining wall along the north side of the outdoor concrete patio and stage, and extension of patio floor slab. Removal of existing fencing along the north and west sides of the outdoor patio,and replacement with new guardrail. Relocation of electrical equipment at northwest corner of outdoor patio and stage. Removal and reinstallation of miscellaneous existing exterior light fixtures throughout the facility. For all bids over $ 100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. For awarded bids over $ 100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. Liquidated Damages - Liquidated damages shall be $1,000.00 per day The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so.
