We have been asked by our client, the Charter Township of Garfield, to solicit this request to qualified contractors and request a proposal for replacement of existing forcemain along South Airport Road that services Pump Station No. 2 service area. The existing forcemain was originally constructed in the 1970s and is located under the west bound, northern lane of South Airport Road and runs from Logans Landing to Park Drive. This forcemain is approximately 1,400 linear feet and discharges into an existing manhole located at the northeast corner of Park Drive and South Airport Road intersection. A portion of this forcemain recently experienced failures and emergency corrective repairs were implemented. Field investigations at the time identified areas of future concern related to material quality and depth of coverage. The Township wishes to pursue complete replacement of the forcemain using trenchless installation methods.
