Site work and new construction of a clubhouse / community center in Prince George, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 6,905-square-foot clubhouse / community center.

The proposed Ts'il Kaz Koh Clan House is a versatile, mixed-use facility of approximately 6,905 sq. ft (641.5 m2). It combines residential, communal, and administrative spaces to support the delivery of care by Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS), while creating a home-like atmosphere that emphasizes comfort, dignity, and belonging. The program includes a central gathering space, Elders/Culture Room, teaching kitchen and pantry, craft and education rooms, a dedicated Traditional Decision-Making Room, a small meeting/quiet room, three private offices, two two-bedroom suites, two studio suites, a private residential common area with kitchen, and back-of-house functions. Adjoining lock-off doors between studio and two-bedroom suites provide added privacy and flexibility for different family care arrangements. The design concept is grounded in healing through connection to land, cultural engagement, community participation, and living together as family. The site recommended in the feasibility study is Site 3, within the planned residential subdivision on the northern lakefront portion of Burns Lake IR-18, adjacent to the Village of Burns Lake. The location aligns the Clan House with future housing and community infrastructure while providing room for outdoor programming, privacy landscaping, parking/loading, and future program growth. Development of Site 3 is subject to completion of the proposed subdivision; if the subdivision is delayed or does not proceed, Site 2 is the recommended alternative. Two design options--Option 1, Circular, and Option 2, Rectilinear--require further community engagement and review; Option 2 has been used for Class D costing only. Project activities have included review of prior studies, site and servicing investigations (civil, geotechnical, environmental, archaeological), reconnaissance of site options, and ongoing community dialogue to confirm the program, site fit, and conceptual design. Site 3 requires coordination with the planned subdivision, confirmation of land encumbrances, and further investigations identified in the feasibility study. TIMELINE: Request for Proposals is underway seeking full Prime Consultant services--from Schematic Design through Design Development, Tender, Construction & Contract Administration, and As-Built documentation to advance the Ts'il Kaz Koh Clan House into construction in alignment with CSFS capital funding requirements. Further update in early spring 2027, pending selection of a preferred proponent.
