The City of East Chicago, Indiana is seeking sealed proposals in response to a Request for Proposals (RFP) to procure and install recreation upgrades at the following parks: Kosciuszko Park, Nunez Park, Sunnyside Park, and Marktown Park. This will include repaving of basketball courts, restriping and adjustment of basketball goals, installation of one new basketball court, installation of a minimum of two pickleball courts and accessories, exercise equipment, playground equipment, benches , picnic tables, and trash cans. Project to be completed by November 30, 2026. Bonds: Certified Check required, 5% Bid Bond. MBE (10%), WBE (5%) Kosciuszko Park* Work entails resurfacing the existing basketball court surface and pushing each court closer to their respective corners of the court areas to create more distance between each. Courts will be striped with smaller court dimensions in order to maintain a total of four (4) courts. Two (2) benches will be added for each court on the outside long side of the court and located one per half court. Belson Mall Style Bench 6' Model 932SM-V6. Basketball goals will be removed and reinstalled per the new court dimensions. Install ten (10) additional benches at locations determined by the Recreation Department throughout the park. Install five (5) automatic trash receptacles at locations determined by the Recreation Department throughout the park. Bigbelly Smart Max Trash Automatic Bins or approved equal. Courts will be restriped with dimensions increased to approximately standard basketball court dimensions. Basketball goals will be removed and reinstalled per the new court layout. Install ten (10) additional benches at locations determined by the Recreation Department throughout the park. Relocate walking path as needed to accommodate new basketball court and maintain access through park. Include stripping and basketball goals for new court. Install per manufacturer's recommendations. - Install pavilion approximately 24'x36' over fitness area with metal gable roof. 8' clear space under roof minimum two (2) bays wide by three (3) bays long. Install play structure for youth ages 2-12, location to be determined by the Recreation Department. Willy Goat - Amazing Antelope Playground Structure (approximately 60'x70' pad area) or Gabby Gibon Playground Structure or approved equal (approximately 56'x55' pad area). Install Pour-n-Place under new play structure, provide alternate bid price for ADA compliant mulch. Install per manufactures recommendations. Marktown Park* Work entails resurfacing the existing deteriorated rear basketball court surface. Court surface will be restriped for a minimum of two pickleball courts. Two (2) benches will be added to each court on the outside long side of the court. Belson Mall Style Bench 6' Model 932SM-V6. Basketball goals will be removed, and all required accessories (nets, etc. ) will be installed per the requirements for pickleball play. Install six (6) additional benches at locations determined by the Recreation Department throughout the park.
