The City of Danville Water Department ("the Utility") is seeking proposals from qualified vendors, for a Water Meter Replacement Project, to furnish water meters and an associated automated meter reading (AMR) / advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system. This specification covers three components: Residential meters in sizes 5/8" x 1/2", 5/8" x 3/4", and 1 , using solid-state technology with no moving parts in the measuring element. Commercial meters in size 2, using a low-friction, non-mechanically geared measuring technology as described in Section 3. A fixed-network Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system as the primary data collection method, with an integrated mobile walk-by / drive-by AMR system serving as backup, as described in Section 4. This specification is written in functional , performance-based terms. It does not specify a manufacturer or brand name. Proposers may offer any product that meets or exceeds every requirement stated herein. All proposed equipment must be new, current-production, and from a single manufacturer's compatible product line to ensure long-term interoperability, parts availability, and unified customer support. Proposers shall identify any exceptions to these requirements in their response if applicable.
