Road and street improvements to improve safety, connectivity, and access in southeast Bend. Bonds: Other Bond required (unspecified amount). The Engineers estimate is $ 7,447,202. The Aune Safety and Connectivity Project include the following elements: o Aune Street (Division Street to Scott Street): Install new sewer and water lines and reconstruct the roadway. Construct a shared use path on the north side of Aune Street and a sidewalk on the south side. Coordinate with BNSF for work adjacent to and parallel with the railroad. o Scott Street and Aune Street Crossing: Construct a pedestrian median to provide a safer crossing at Scott Street and Aune Street. Coordination with Pacific Power for intersection lighting upgrades. o Scott Street/2nd Street: Construct a new shared use path along Scott Street, sidewalk infill at select locations, and traffic calming improvements along 2nd Street. Traffic calming improvements include adjustments to existing tubular markers, roadway narrowing, and a reduced posted speed limit. o 2nd Street and Miller Avenue: Construct a new marked crossing at 2nd Street and Miller Avenue. Coordinate with Pacific Power for intersection lighting upgrades. o 3rd Street and Burnside Avenue Intersection: Construct a median on 3rd Street extending north and south of Burnside Avenue, with marked crossings and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs). Coordinate with Pacific Power for intersection lighting upgrades. o 3rd Street Shared Use Path: Upgrade the existing sidewalk on the west side of 3rd Street between Davis Avenue and Burnside Avenue to a shared use path. Coordinate with Pacific Power for installation of new meters serving pedestrianscale lighting along the shared use path. o Miller Avenue Shared Use Path: Construct a shared use path along Miller Avenue connecting the 3rd Street shared use path to 2nd Street. o 3rd Street and Miller Avenue Signalized Intersection: Install a new traffic signal at 3rd Street and Miller Avenue and modify the intersection to provide two northbound through lanes and two southbound through lanes, including construction of a tapered raised median on 3rd Street. Coordinate with Pacific Power for installation of a new meter serving the traffic signal.
