Supply and installation of a new pressure-treated timber retaining wall matching the recently completed retaining wall section on site including the height. New retaining wall to include all required: Excavation Granular base and footing preparation Tie-backs / deadmen as required based on tree locations Drainage provisions behind the wall (provide filter fabric and 300 mm minimum clear stone drainage layer behind retaining wall. Include perforated drainage pipe where feasible.) Fasteners, hardware, and connectors Backfilling and compaction Grading and restoration including landscaping restoration. Contractor shall ensure the retaining wall is properly designed and constructed to resist earth pressures and maintain long-term stability. Existing mature trees are to remain. Contractor shall take reasonable precautions to protect tree roots. Any root removal required for construction shall be included in the base bid. Remove all debris and leave the site in a clean condition upon completion. Timber Planter Edge o o Sawcut and remove asphalt edge 1.2 meters around existing timber edge and the entire asphalt walkway leading to the back entrance. Remove timber edging. Adjust/reset perimeter pavers as required . Regrade base as required. Place new asphalt flush with paver surface. Additional Asphalt Removal and Replacement Please provide a separate price to: Sawcut, remove, and replace approximately 1.2 metre width of asphalt pavement directly in front of the retaining wall for the full length of the replacement area. Wooden Barrier Replacement o Remove and dispose of existing wooden barrier, including posts, rails, concrete footings, fasteners, and miscellaneous hardware. Cutting posts off at grade and leaving buried posts, footings, or other subsurface components in place is not permitted. o Supply and install new pressure-treated wooden barrier matching existing alignment and appearance using a pilot-hole and driven-post installation method. o Barrier to consist of: 6" x 6" pressure-treated posts; Three 2" x 6" pressure-treated rails; o o Hot-dip galvanized fasteners. Maintain existing fence height, length and posts spacing. o Restore disturbed surfaces upon completion.
