Roof replacement at the Campus Recreation Center. est. $2,200,000.00 - $2,700,000.00 The project includes the replacement of the low-slope roof areas totaling approximately 90,000 square feet at the UAB Campus Recreation Building. The scope of work includes replacement of the entire roof assembly down to the existing structural steel deck in some areas, and partial replacement involving removal of the existing modified bitumen membrane and perlite coverboard while salvaging the existing polyisocyanurate insulation in other areas. The new roof assembly is to consist of minimum LTTR-25 flat stock polyisocyanurate insulation, a new adhered high-density polyisocyanurate coverboard, and a fully adhered 80-mil PVC roof membrane. Replacement of the existing flashings and roof accessories (e.g., parapet flashings and coping, curb and penetration flashings, etc.) is also included. The project also includes several facade-related scopes, including repair and coating of exterior insulation finish system (EIFS) rising walls at the roof level, sealing and repair of existing sloped glazing/skylights, and isolated brick masonry facade repairs where masonry distress adjoins the roof areas. Several mechanical, electrical, and plumbing-related scopes of work are also included in the project. Existing mechanical units, ductwork, pipes, etc., are to be supported or raised as necessary to remove and install a new roof assembly in compliance with the project documents. Drainage improvements in the scope of work include replacement of existing cast-iron roof drain bodies, clamping rings, and strainers and attaching these to existing stormwater piping, as well as installation of new overflow drains, associated piping, and outlets. The scope of work also includes the careful disassembly, removal from the roof, and palletization on grade of existing roof-mounted solar panels and their mounting hardware. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
