PLANK ROAD SIDEWALK EXTENSION PROJECT - CULVERT REPAIR AND EXTENSION The Town of Penfield Engineering Department, on behalf of the Penfield Town Board, is seeking unit price bids for the following classifications of culvert repair and extension work. Box Culvert Extension to be provided by owner. It will be up to the contractor to coordinate with the manufacturer of the pre-purchased box culvert for delivery to the site, per their schedule. Also, the contractor will be responsible for lifting and setting the box culvert into place. CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE / PROJECT SCOPE 1. Install silt fences and stormwater management practices. 2. Establish 6 x 6 temporary impact for dewatering following plan. 3. Establish temporary dewatering sump. 4. Install temporary 3 inch dewatering pump and necessary piping for pump. 5. Cut out the existing box culvert. 6. Remove existing headwall. 7. Remove existing wingwall at least to the bottom of the existing box culvert. 8. Repair existing footwall. 9. Add necessary stone fill under box culvert extension. 10. Remove unsuitable material from under proposed footings. 11. Install proposed wingwall. 12. Install proposed toe wall. 13. Extend 3 x 5 box culvert by 15 feet, matching the existing culvert slope and grade. 14. Install proposed headwall. 15. Install waterproofing membrane along culvert and joints following plan sheet. 16. Fill to the proposed grade surrounding the culvert. 17. Install clean base fill following plan sheet. 18. Compact installed stone fill according to plans. 19. Remove 3 inch dewatering pump. 20. Remove silt fences and stormwater management practices. 21. Install topsoil and seed all disturbed areas.
