Description

Renovation of a mixed-use development in Syracuse, New York. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.

Complete Architect-Engineer (A/E) design and cost estimation services are required to upgrade the existing obsolete Edwards EST-3 fire alarm system under Project No. 528A7-24-112. Services include evaluation and replacement of existing fire alarm control panels and remote annunciators, installation of a new fiber loop network connecting all fire alarm panels and a new master control panel, expansion of the addressable fire alarm system to additional campus buildings, removal of the existing fireman telephone system, and development of a phased implementation plan that maintains continuous fire alarm protection throughout construction. The Architect-Engineer shall prepare complete working drawings, technical specifications, and detailed construction cost estimates, and provide construction period services. All design documents must be stamped by a registered Fire Protection Engineer (FPE), and the prime firm must have a Fire Protection Engineer on staff. Design services must comply with the latest editions of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70, NFPA 72, the National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable Department of Veterans Affairs construction standards, and VA fire protection design criteria. Location: Syracuse VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13210. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
