Scope of Work: The City of Oceanside proposes to repair and rehabilitate 162 linear feet of existing 8-inch sewer main between Sewer Manhole #601015015 and Sewer Manhole #601015008. The downstream 30 linear-foot segment of this reach, which is constructed of cast-iron pipe (CIP) immediately upstream of Sewer Manhole #601015008, has deteriorated and tuberculated requiring full replacement. The point repair will consist of excavating and removing the 30-foot cast-iron segment and installing new 8-inch vitrified clay pipe (VCP) sewer main . Work includes proper bedding and backfill, reconnection at the manhole, reconnection of new VCP main to the existing VCP main, and rehabilitation of Sewer Manholes #601015008 and #601015015 as required . Following completion of the point repair and manhole rehabilitation, the project will install a cured-in -place pipe (CIPP) liner over the entire 162-linear-foot reach from Sewer Manhole #601015015 to Sewer Manhole #601015008. Location of Work: The project is located in the City of Oceanside at the west cul-de-sac of Via Rio, which is one of two cul-de-sacs along the street. The work area is limited to the north side of the west cul-de-sac, where the existing sewer main runs within a recorded easement between residential properties.
