The subject line of the email should read: Questions: RFP27-011 Central Emergency Services Stations #5-6 High Efficiency Lighting. The Kenai Peninsula Borough is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide energy-efficient LED lighting improvements at Central Emergency Services Station 5 (Funny River) and Station 6 (Kasilof) . The work includes evaluating existing lighting conditions, replacing incandescent and fluorescent bulbs with LED alternatives, upgrading obsolete or inefficient fixtures, and installing additional lighting where needed to improve illumination. The Contractor must review the existing lighting inventory and determine the most cost-effective approach to reducing energy consumption and ongoing maintenance costs while maintaining or improving lighting quality. Existing fixtures may be retained and converted to LED where practical. Fixtures that are obsolete, damaged, incompatible with LED bulbs, or otherwise unsuitable for continued use must be identified for replacement. The proposed work must include the following: 1. Evaluate existing interior and exterior lighting at both stations and identify opportunities for LED conversion, fixture replacement, and additional lighting. 2. Furnish and install LED bulbs, fixtures, and associated materials necessary to complete the proposed improvements. 3. Replace or upgrade existing fixtures where bulb replacement alone is not practical or costeffective. 4. Provide additional lighting in areas identified as having insufficient illumination, including applicable exterior entryways and living spaces. 5. Evaluate opportunities to incorporate photocells, motion sensors, or other lighting controls to further reduce energy consumption. 6. Ensure all installed lighting is suitable for its intended location and provides appropriate illumination for emergency services operations. 7. Remove and properly dispose of replaced bulbs, fixtures, and associated materials in accordance with applicable regulations. 8. Test all installed lighting and controls to verify proper operation upon completion. Proposals must identify the recommended improvements for each station, including the quantity and type of LED bulbs or fixtures proposed for replacement or installation. Proposers must distinguish between bulb conversions, complete fixture replacements, and new lighting installations, and provide sufficient detail for the Borough to evaluate the proposed improvements and associated costs. The existing lighting inventory and photographs are provided as a reference for developing proposals. Proposers are responsible for verifying existing conditions and identifying the work necessary to achieve the Project objectives
