Tampa Convention Center is seeking competitive bids from qualified, licensed inspection agencies to perform annual safety inspections, compliance testing, and certifications for our vertical transportation systems and stair lifts. The site features a standard portfolio, mostly Kone equipment. The objective is to ensure all equipment operates safely and fully complies with state, local, and ASME safety codes. The selected contractor will provide all labor, tools, equipment, and technical expertise to perform the following: Annual Routine Inspections: Complete physical, mechanical, and operational safety inspections of all designated elevators and escalators. Elevator Safety Testing: Conduct Category 1 (Annual) no-load safety testing or as mandated by jurisdictional authorities. Escalator Safety Testing: Perform annual operational safety tests, including comb-plate checks, step-skirt clearances, handrail speeds, emergency stop switches, and braking systems. Code Compliance: Verify compliance with ASME A17.1 (Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators), National Electrical Code (NEC), and local building codes. Reporting & Documentation: Provide detailed, itemized inspection reports within 5 business days, outlining any deficiencies, code violations, or recommended repairs. Filing & Certification: Prepare and submit all required documentation, test logs, and permit applications to the local department of buildings/governing authority to secure operational certificates. Stair Lift Safety Testing: Perform mandatory annual operational safety tests. The City reserves the right to cancel, reject any and/or all quotes, or to waive irregularities and accept that quote which is the lowest and best.
