The City of Aurora is seeking qualified well equipment and maintenance contractors to provide all labor, materials, transportation, tools, supplies, equipment, and appurtenances necessary to complete the satisfactory rehabilitation of existing Well 115 for the Water Production Division. The Work consists of the maintenance and rehabilitation of shallow Well 115 , including inspection and evaluation of existing well and pumping equipment; maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment and components as necessary; redevelopment of the aquifer formation; and testing and related activities necessary to restore and maintain sustainable well yield and a safe pumping level. The primary purpose and intent of this project is formation redevelopment, combined with inspection and repair/replacement of all related well equipment as needed, including cables, pump, motor, and column piping. Over-pumping of the formation with the existing pump has been a long-standing operational issue and is currently mitigated through throttling of the discharge line valve. "Right-sizing" of the well's production to maintain a safe pumping level via pump redesign and aquifer formation redevelopment accompanied by well-screen cleaning is intended to achieve sustainable pumping without throttling the discharge flow.
