The objective of the Signal Infrastructure Replacement Program is to carry out the construction replacement of various intersections throughout the City, with the goal of replacing 5+ signalized intersections a year over the next several years. The scope of work consists of replacing aging traffic signal infrastructure including: bases, steel, traffic cabinet bases, wiring and cables, conduit, tracer wires, pull strings, urds, duct work, traffic signal fixtures, signs, poles, signals and all other components required to replace this infrastructure. This also includes the installation of a new power distribution cabinet between distribution and traffic signal electric works. As a part of the 2027 construction season priorities, the City is looking for construction for full replacement of existing traffic signal infrastructure and lighting at the following locations: 1. 28 Street (Molly Bannister Drive) & 50 Avenue 2. 32 Street & Spruce Drive 3. 43 Street and 55 Avenue 4. 45 Street and 48 Avenue 5. 45 Street and 49 Avenue As a part of the 2027 construction season priorities, the City is looking for construction for partial replacement of existing traffic signal infrastructure and lighting at the following locations: 6. 32 Street and Springfield Avenue - North side of intersection 7. 78 Street and 50 Avenue - Northwest Corner of the intersection Note - these two (2) partial intersections require new bases, steel, conduit, URDs, and signal fixtures, as well as new conductor cable from the signal fixtures to the handholes (with 2.0 m slack). EL&P will complete the installation / termination of the cables, the removals of the existing infrastructure, as well as the remediation of the concrete and asphalt due to the removals.
