The transportation improvement initiative was identified through planning associated with the Wake BRT: New Bern Avenue project and focuses on pedestrian safety, bicycle connectivity, traffic calming, streetscape enhancements, placemaking features, ADA sidewalk improvements, and multimodal transportation infrastructure improvements. Design concepts are currently being developed based on public feedback, with construction planned between 2026 and 2028.
