This project provides funding for the acquisition and renovation of commercial office space in the Lakeside buildings in Sterling. The facilities will serve as a service center in eastern Loudoun providing public services to residents The Board directed staff to develop a Government Office Space Transition Strategy, which includes the construction of new County government facilities and/or the acquisition of existing office or commercial buildings in specific areas of the County that provide synergy between the County seat in Leesburg and population densities in eastern Loudoun. The development and acquisition of new County government office space will allow the County to move current operations out of leased space, at a significant long-term cost savings to the County, and develop additional space required to accommodate future growth. During the FY 2027 budget development process, the project reentered the CIP to provide funding for the renovation of the facility acquired by the County. The project is included in the County 2027 - 2032 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). TIMELINE: As of November 6, 2026, Loudoun County has purchased two office buildings with one to eventually serve as the new location for the Eastern Loudoun Service Center and the other supporting the county’s internal operations. The buildings are located at 21345 (Lakeside II) and 21355 Ridgetop Circle (Lakeside III). Lakeside II will serve as the county’s new Eastern Loudoun Service Center. Plans to renovate the buildings are underway. The relocation of all services will occur in phases over a multi-year period. * *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
