The work zones will be set up by the contractor and will include all necessary signage, cones, and other traffic control devices complying with the latest edition of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, MUTCD. The contractor shall provide certified flaggers in traffic control and will be supervised by an individual that is familiar with the MUTCD and is a competent person on the contractor's crew. Contractor must have experience working in urban areas. Note that impacts to collector and arterial streets may require time restrictions for impacts to traffic. No RFSB will be accepted after the previously stated time and date. Telephone, email, or facsimile RFSB'S will not be accepted. Prices quoted shall be valid for sixty days following the RFSB opening. The contract for this RFSB shall expire on December 31, 2025, unless the City, at its sole discretion, may extend the contract for the contractor to complete the streets in this Bid in 2026. Surface mix shall end on October 18th as in accordance with Maine DOT standards. Any surface mix after that date will need approval by the Director or their designee. It is the custom of the City of Augusta to pay its bills within 30 days following receipt of bills for all items covered by the purchase order. Except as otherwise required by law or as specifically provided to the contrary herein, the award of this RFSB shall be governed by the City's purchasing ordinance.
