Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Biddeford, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
*As of February 20, 2023, a general contractor has been awarded. The replacement culvert is a clamshell style reinforced concrete box. The box culvert has been ordered and the cost of the culvert and delivery to the site will be covered by the City. Culvert appurtenances and installation will be services provided by the successful bidder. The project is scheduled to be awarded on February 21, 2023 at the City Council Meeting. Work associated with the project will generally include installation of a replacement culvert at a stream crossing in a tidal environment along Granite Point Road. All in stream work associated with the project must be completed by April 9, 2023 to be in conformance with fish passage requirements. If contractor prefers electronic copies, they can be received by (as a pdf file for a fee of $50.00) contacting the design engineer's office as described below. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Biddeford or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company in an amount equal to five (5%) of the Total Bid Price for the contract shall be submitted with the bid. No bids may be withdrawn within sixty (60) calendar days of the bid opening unless released by the Owner. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a performance bond and payment bond each for 100% of the contract price. The City of Biddeford reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies, to accept any Bid that it may deem to be in the best interests of the City of Biddeford, to negotiate the contract Price with any Bidder, and to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the interest of the City of Biddeford.
