This project involves construction of approximately 1,600 linear feet of gravel roadway where a woods road currently exists at the dead-end of Dingley Road. Work includes clearing & grubbing, common excavation, geotextile installation, gravel subbase and base, ledge excavation, culvert installation, grass-lined ditching, and other miscellaneous work-related items. The Documents may be examined at the Town Office in Bowdoinham, Maine and the following locations: Pine Tree Engineering, Inc. 53 Front Street Bath, Maine 04530 All bidders must furnish the following: 1. A completed Bid Form. 2. Experience Record (see Section 2-D). 3. A list of all subcontractors to be utilized on the project. 4. A bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid in the form of a Bid Bond or certified check, made out to the Town of Bowdoinham. The successful bidder must furnish the following: 1. Certificate of Insurance (in accordance with Section 3, Article 26) 2. 100% Construction Performance Bond 3. 100% Construction Labor and Material Payment Bond The Town of Bowdoinham will have thirty (30) calendar days within which to accept or reject any bid. The work shall be completed by November 29, 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of $250 per day are contained in the Contract. The Town of Bowdoinham reserves the right to adjust the quantities contained in the Bid Form as needed in order to stay within the project budget. The Town of Bowdoinham reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies, and to accept any bid which is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Bowdoinham, not necessarily the lowest bid. Work under this contract: A. Work under this contract includes all work required for the extension of approximately 1,600 linear feet of Dingley Road for the Town of Bowdoinham. In general, the work includes clearing & grubbing, common excavation, geotextile installation, gravel subbase and base, ledge excavation, culvert installation, grasslined ditching, and other miscellaneous work-related items. Contractor is required to complete all work required by the Specifications to affect a complete job. B. Specific items of work are included, but are not limited to: a. Clearing and grubbing within the limit of work. b. Common excavation. c. Granular borrow to fill to the subgrade elevation. d. Installing subgrade stabilization geotextile on a prepared subgrade. e. Installation of gravel subbase and base courses. f. Ledge excavation. g. Installing 15", 18", and 24" HDPE culverts with inlet and outlet riprap protection. h. Grass-lined ditching. i. Loam, seed and mulch all ditched areas along ditch matting. j. Erosion and sedimentation control. k. Other incidental items required to complete the project. Furnish all material, labor, and equipment to perform the common excavation, filling, and grading required for the new road base and roadside ditching. This work shall also include granular borrow as needed for fill to the subgrade elevation. Furnish all material and labor to install erosion and sedimentation control devices. The Contractor is responsible for erosion and sediment control, and shall install measures such as silt fence, stone check dams, and temporary mulching in accordance with the Maine Erosion and Sediment Control Best Management Practices, by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection latest edition.
