Site work and outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field in Gardiner, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and for outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field.
City of Gardiner is currently seeking proposals to complete site and landscape improvements for the reconstruction of McKay Park, an approximately 60' x 60' public park, 311 Water Street in the downtown district. The contract would include all site work associated with the reconstruction of the park. The demolition of the existing park will be done by the City's Public Works Department. The new site work will include structural fill, grading, a concrete block retaining wall, granite stairs, site lighting, poured concrete plazas, landscaping and all other works specified in the contract documents. The work is financed in part with Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) funds. Contractors should be aware that they must comply with various federal regulations including Davis-Bacon Labor standards and the environmental regulations. It is the Contractors responsibility to know and understand these standards. Attached to the Specifications Manual is CDBG CHAPTER 16: LABOR STANDARDS. This chapter describes the policies and procedures that must be followed when undertaking construction projects with CDBG funds to ensure compliance with the labor laws and requirements.
