The work for the PETTINGILL STREET SEWER REPLACEMENT shall consist of, but not be limited to, the complete and satisfactory construction of fourteen hundred twenty (1,420) linear feet of teninch (10") PVC sewer main, four (4) four-foot (4') diameter sewer manholes, one (1) four-foot (4') diameter external drop manhole, replacement of two (2) sewer manhole covers, six hundred sixtyfive (665) cubic yards of aggregate subbase, three hundred forty (340) cubic yards of aggregate base, two hundred ninety (290) tons of nineteen-millimeter (19mm) hot mixed asphalt, one hundred eighty-five (185) tons of twelve and one-half millimeter (12.5mm) hot mixed asphalt, and ten (10) tons of hand-placed hot mixed asphalt. No proposal will be considered unless accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of 10% of the total bid price, made out in favor of the City of Lewiston. Personal and business checks will not be accepted. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, preferably executed on AIA Bond Form Number A311, in an amount equal to the total contract price, of a surety company satisfactory to the Purchasing Agent, will be required of the successful bidder. The Contractor shall furnish proof of coverage with adequate insurance of the types and to the limits specified in the bid specifications naming the City of Lewiston as additional insured. Certificate of such insurance shall be filed with the Purchasing Agent for his/her approval before permission to commence work will be granted.
