The lowest responsive bidder must have completed, or successfully complete, a Highway Construction or Paving Prequalification, or project specific prequalification to be considered for the award of this contract. Description: WIN 25931.00 Location: In Franklin and Somerset Counties, project is located: Map ID 1 is in New Sharon on Route 27 beginning 0.37 miles south of the intersection with the York Hill Road and extending northerly to the easterly junction of Route 2. Includes paving shoulders. Map ID 2 & 3 are in Farmington, Strong, Avon, and Phillips on Route 149 beginning at the intersection with Route 4 and extending northerly and westerly to the intersection with Route 142. Includes paving shoulders and milling and paving Bridge #1518 and #5063. Map ID 4 is in Strong and New Vineyard on Route 234 beginning at the intersection with Route 149 and extending easterly to the southerly junction of Route 27. Includes paving turning lanes and milling and paving Bridge #5935. Map ID 5 is in Anson on Route 16 beginning at the intersection with the Embden Pond Road and extending easterly to the southerly junction of Route 8/201A. Includes paving shoulders. Map ID 6 is in New Vineyard and Anson on Route 234 beginning at the northerly junction of Route 27 and extending easterly to the intersection with Route 8/201A. Includes paving shoulders. Map ID 7 is in Strong and Freeman TWP on Route 145 beginning at the intersection with Route 4 and extending northerly to the intersection with Route 142. Includes paving shoulders and turning lanes and milling and paving Bridge #3364, #3679, #3677, and #3678. Outline of Work: Light Capital Paving and other incidental work. Questions received after 12:00 noon of Monday prior to bid date will not be answered. Bidders shall not contact any other Departmental staff for clarification of Contract provisions, and the Department will not be responsible for any interpretations so obtained. Each Bid must be made upon blank forms provided by the Department and must be accompanied by a bid bond at 5% of the bid amount or an official bank check, cashier's check, certified check, certificate of deposit, or United States postal money order in the amount of 5% of the bid amount, payable to Treasurer, State of Maine as a Bid guarantee. A Contract Performance Surety Bond and a Contract Payment Surety Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price, will be required of the successful Bidder. This Contract is subject to all applicable State Laws. The right is hereby reserved to the Maine DOT to reject any or all bids. MEDOT - Light Capital Paving - Strong Area - Region 3 A penalty in the amount of $500/day will be assessed for each calendar day or partial calendar day beyond June 15 that the schedule of work is not received.
