The City of Portland is soliciting sealed bids from contractors for the construction of improvements associated with the Payson Park Playground Project located at Payson Park, Baxter Boulevard, Portland, Maine. The project consists generally of the following items in accordance with the drawings and specifications presented in this Project Manual: 1. BASE BID. The Payson Park Playground Project includes site improvements associated with a playground reconstruction project. Work will include, but is not limited to, the following: o All demolition and site preparation work as indicated on the plans. o Earthwork, including preparation of new playground areas, new stone dust area, and minor grading associated with the existing playground improvements. o Resurfacing of existing stone dust path to remain and constructing new stone dust areas as specified in the plans. o Placing reclaim granite curbing (provided by City; to be loaded and transported to the site by Contractor from the City's outer Congress Street facility), as indicated on the plans. o Relocating and setting existing landscape boulders on site. o Preparing base aggregate, as required, for new playground equipment (by others) as indicated on the plans, including any required coordination with the City's playground equipment installers. o Preparing new planting beds and tree wells (Planting to be done by City), including mulch placement. o Constructing and repairing lawn areas, including loam, seeding, and mulching. o Modify the existing fence, as required, and provide and install new entrance panels / gates as specified in the construction documents. Work shall include all required demolition, preparation, hardware, materials, and footings.
