Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Portland, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
In-person submission is not currently allowed due to City Hall being closed to the public. It is the bidder's sole responsibility to ensure that their bid is submitted prior to the date and time specified. Late or unsigned bids shall not be accepted. The project area includes the following locations: 1. The sidewalk on the east side of Washington Avenue between Oxford Street and Cumberland Avenue, with associated utility work. 2. Washington Avenue, including both sidewalks, between Cumberland Avenue and Congress Street. 3. Short sections of sidewalk extending out from Washington Avenue along both Cumberland Avenue and Congress Street. 4. The roadway of Washington Avenue between Oxford Street and Congress Street. OUTLINE OF WORK: The project includes, but is not limited to the following items: 1. Removal and replacement of existing traffic signal equipment with new equipment, 2. Resetting and installation of new granite curbing, 3. Installation of ADA-compliant brick curb ramps. 4. Removal of existing roadway pavement, sidewalk brick and subgrade, placement of proposed subgrade material, and installation of brick sidewalks and driveway aprons, 5. Roadway milling and surface paving, 6. Drainage work associated with sidewalk reconstruction, including installation of subsurface stormwater infiltration areas, catch basins and catch basin leads, 7. Coordination with abutters to minimize, to the extent feasible, disruptions to business, including retail operations, deliveries, and outdoor dining, and 8. Replacement of approximately 600 linear feet of water main. Construction under this contract will be funded by Federal Grants under the Federal Highway Administration and will be subject to all applicable requirements of the U.S Department of Transportation. It will be administered locally by the City of Portland in conjunction with the Maine Department of Transportation and will also be subject to all of their applicable documents.
