Introduction : The town of Sangerville , Me . is seeking to secure a contractor for grading 13.24 miles of dirt roads between May 2026 and November 2026. The grading work will consist of cutting in shoulders to maintain lanes of 9 to 10 ft . in width , removing potholes and restoring a crown to the road as the surface permits to facilitate optimum drainage. This will include grading of all dirt roads on the list in the attached contract . Work will commence as soon as possible after roads are unposted . The contractor will define equipment used, qualifications , experience. The bid is contingent upon budget approval at the annual town meeting. Sealed bids must be returned by the specified deadline. Bids will be opened at the board meeting following the deadline. The road grading will consist of removing potholes , bringing material that has migrated to the shoulder back into the road to maintain lanes approximately 9ft in width and grading a crown into the center of the road for optimum drainage . All gravel roads in town will need to be graded in the early spring or early summer and again in the fall . The invitation to bid will be publicly posted . All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes marked " Grading for Town of Sangerville " , and hand delivered or mailed to the Sangerville town office at the above address .
