Site work for a water / sewer project in South Bristol, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project involves storm damage repairs to the shoreline on sections of Shipyard Road, West Side Road, Western Gut paved lot, and at Eugley's Landing in South Bristol. All bidders must furnish the following: 1. A completed Bid Form. 2. Experience Record (see Section 2-D). 3. A list of all subcontractors to be utilized on the project. 4. A bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid in the form of a Bid Bond or certified check, made out to the Town of South Bristol. The successful bidder must furnish the following: 1. Certificate of Insurance (in accordance with Section 3, Article 26) 2. 100% Construction Performance Bond 3. 100% Construction Labor and Material Payment Bond The Town of South Bristol will have thirty (30) calendar days within which to accept or reject any bid. The work shall be completed by June 27, 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of $250 per day are contained in the Contract. The Town of South Bristol reserves the right to adjust the quantities contained in the Bid Form as needed in order to stay within the project budget. The Town of South Bristol reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies, and to accept any bid which is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of South Bristol, not necessarily the lowest bid. Work under this contract: A. The project involves storm damage repairs at 4 sites located in South Bristol, Maine. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved repairs at these sites. Work includes common excavation, riprap slope and seawall repairs, installing gravel base and subbase, hot mix asphalt surface paving, steel beam guardrail, and other work-related items. Contractor is required to complete all work required by the Specifications to affect a complete job. B. Specific items of work are included, but are not limited to: 1) Providing construction signage and traffic control. A minimum of one travel lane must be provided at all times excluding short durations of up to 5 minutes. 2) The Contractor is responsible for dust control, and soil erosion and sedimentation control throughout the duration of the project. 3) Common excavation, and riprap swale. 4) Seawall repairs, and slope stabilization as detailed on the Construction Drawings. 5) Installing gravel base (Type A) and subbase (Type D), and hot mix asphalt pavement. 6) Remove existing guardrail, and installing new steel beam guardrail. 7) Loam, seed, and mulch on all disturbed areas. 8) Other incidental items required to complete the project Specific work areas are listed below: Location Description Western Gut Seawall and embankment repairs, and paved parking lot repairs. 70 linear feet of seawall repair and 5' x 10' pavement removal and replacement. Eugley's Landing Gravel shoulder repair and installation of riprap swale. 114 linear feet of erosion repair. West Side Road Seawall, embankment, and gravel shoulder repairs. Guardrail removal and replacement. 60 linear feet and 88 linear feet of seawall repair in two sections. 126 linear feet of embankment/gravel shoulder repair. Installation of 362.5 linear feet of steel beam guardrail. Shipyard Road Riprap slope, embankment, and gravel shoulder repairs. 42 linear feet of seawall repair and installation of 50 linear feet of steel beam guardrail.
