Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Hollywood, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
Solicitation Summary This project consists of the Contractor providing all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, insurance, etc., necessary to replace the existing Clivus composting restroom with a precast concrete vault unit at Greenwell State Park which is located at 25420 Rosedale Manor Lane, Hollywood, MD 20636 The project includes the following: a. Pump out existing Clivus Multrum® composting restroom and move to location within the park specified by the Park Facility Manager. b. Procure appropriate permit from the St. Mary’s County Health Department for installation of the proposed double vault restrooms. c. Excavate the site in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications for installation of a CXT® Double Cascadian Vault Restroom with Chase, or acceptable alternative. d. Install 8” of specified aggregate bedding material under vaults, compacted in 4” lifts, using Unit Price #1. e. Coordinate with the Manufacturer on the installation of the CTX Double Cascadian Vault Restrooms with Chase including the requirements for proper backfilling, compacting, and finish grading. i. Note that the Manufacturer will prime and paint the interior and exterior of new restrooms at the factory. Provide the Manufacturer with draw down samples described below. ii. Note that the Manufacturer will install all door hardware, signage, and accessories such as the solar light and solar fan kits. f. Install Owner-furnished vandal-resistant soap dispenser in each restroom. g. Install an approximately 40’ long by 5’ wide, compacted gravel path from existing path along the east side of parking area to the front of installed unit, using Unit Price #1. h. Install 4” of screened topsoil, grading 15’ in all directions from unit following natural contours with an appropriate slope for rainwater to drain off the roof and away from the unit. Provide biodegradable ground matting and seed and straw over graded area. i. Remove and properly dispose of all excess dirt, material, and debris COMPLETION TIME AND LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: The work shall be completed within 90 calendar days from the start date of the contract. If the work is not completed within the time period specified, the contractor will be liable for liquidated damages of $150.00 per calendar day as specified in the “General Conditions.” QUESTIONS: All questions must be in writing to the Procurement Officer on or before Friday, 07 March 2025 by 2:00 PM EST PREVAILING WAGE RATES Prevailing wage rates apply to all contracts in the amount of $250,000 or more. Wage rates applicable to projects of $250,000 or more are attached to the specifications. BID BONDS (For bids over $100,000): A. When the sum of the total bid amount plus all add alternates, but excluding all deduct alternates, is in excess of $100,000, a bidder must furnish, prior to the bid due date, a bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount plus all add alternates, but excluding all deduct alternates. B. DGS’ preferred form of bid bond is part of the contract documents. Bid bonds must provide for minimum liability of the principal and surety in the amount provided in COMAR 21.06.07.09 D (2). Bonds shall be issued by a surety licensed by the Maryland Insurance Administration or by a surety that transacts business through an insurance agency licensed by the Maryland Insurance Administration. The contractor may not split its bid bond among multiple sureties or bonds.
