Demolition, site work and renovation of a residential development in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development; for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
A bid bond will be required for this project. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond from a Surety company satisfactory to RRHA or a Certified or Cashier's Check, made payable to: Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the total bid price. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds must file with each bond a certified and effective dated copy of their power of attorney. Each Bid Bond and the accompanying power of attorney should bear the same date. In case of the failure of the bidder to provide Performance and Payment Bonds and execute the contract within the prescribed time, RRHA may, at its option consider the bidder in default, in which case the bid bond accompanying the bid shall become the property of RRHA. Upon determination of the Bid most responsive, responsible to this invitation for bids, conforming in all material respects with the requirements of the Bid Documents, the RRHA will send the Notice of Intent to Award to the Bidder recommended for the award. The notice will state the Contract Price, itemize the alternates accepted by the RRHA. Within fifteen (15) days after receipt of the Notice of Intent to Award, the Bidder recommended for award shall return the executed Performance and Payment Bonds with RRHA as obligee, evidence of insurance and any other documents required for submission. Each Bond shall attach a separate, certified copy of power of attorney. Duties of the General Contractor will include conducting all the work defined by the project documents and providing coordination as a single point of control for costs, scheduling, and conformance of the work defined below. In addition, the renovation will require phasing the construction process to allow the relocation of residents during the construction period. The scope synopsis in general, includes but is not limited to the following: The Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority also reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive informalities and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of the procuring public body to be in its best interest. Richmond Redevelopment & Housing Authority (RRHA) is seeking bids from qualified, licensed, and bonded contractors to provide construction services for the interior renovation of the building located at 1611 4 th Avenue in Richmond, VA. The building consists of one hundred five (105) 1-bedroom senior apartment units. The Scope of Work is listed below. The building will be occupied by tenants for the demolition and construction process. Construction planning and scheduling MUST take this into account. RRHA requires the successful bidder to have a complete construction phasing plan schedule prior to starting work and to have that plan approved by the project manager or his designee, five (5) working days prior to the projected start date.
