Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a 425,000-square-foot educational facility.

The work includes construction of a New High School located on the site of the existing High School. The project includes academic spaces, performing arts center, indoor gymnasiums and athletic facilities, swimming pool, food service, outdoor practice fields, and site development. Construction activities include, but are not limited to excavation, concrete footings and foundations, concrete slab-on-grade, precast concrete, masonry, structural steel framing, thermoplastic membrane roofing, metal joists and deck, aluminum composite panels, aluminum curtainwall, finish carpentry, interior wood and hollow metal doors, interior and exterior aluminum storefront framing, windows, steel stud and gypsum board partitions, acoustical panel ceilings, rough carpentry and sheathing, thermal insulation, carpet, terrazzo, tile, resilient flooring, painting, specialties, window treatments, laboratory casework, architectural wood casework, theatrical systems and equipment, athletic flooring and equipment swimming pool and equipment, elevators and lifts. Mechanical systems include HVAC distribution and equipment, controls, plumbing systems, fire suppression systems, a geothermal well field and site utility connections. Electrical systems include lighting, electrical distribution, switch gear and connection to the public utilities along with communications/data, security and fire alarm systems. Site development includes selective site demolition, earthwork, subgrade and sub-base, erosion and sediment control, pavement and sidewalks, seeding, plantings, water distribution, sanitary sewerage, and storm drainage. The demolition of the existing high school will follow the completion of the new high school. Site restoration activities constructed on the site of the existing high school after demolition include earthwork, erosion and sediment control, PCC pavement and sidewalks, seeding, plantings, trench excavation and backfill, water distribution, sanitary sewerage, and storm drainage, construction of athletic fields, greenhouse, outdoor classroom structure.
