Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Bakersfield, California. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 49,600-square-foot educational facility; laboratory facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

This project will construct a new 36,750 ASF/49,000 GSF facility (#50) to consolidate instructional and instructional support space for Criminal Justice, Kinesiology, Psychology, and Sociology programs from several buildings across the campus. The vacated space will accommodate the enrollment growth for Social Sciences & Education academic programs. The new building will provide office and laboratory space, a research center, and student support and tutoring areas. The project is expected to provide 97 FTE of teaching laboratory space. This project is currently in the California State University's FY 2025/2026-2029/2030 CIP. As of February 23, 2026, this project is still pending funding approval. Information regarding a timeline for construction has not been identified. This project is currently budgeted for the 2027/28 fiscal year*.
