Site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in San Luis Obispo, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 35,000-square-foot educational facility; and for the addition of a 22,600-square-foot theater / auditorium.

This project will renovate the 36,207 GSF/21,000 ASF building, to better support modern pedagogies in music education. Arts courses are required for all students, even those outside of these specific programs, in order to satisfy the Area C general education requirements. This addition will allow the existing spaces to be converted into dedicated lecture rooms in order to increase campuswide lecture FTE capacity and allow for enrollment growth in line with university-specific and CSU systemwide goals. This project will also renovate music practice and performance spaces aligned with the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) accreditation standards. This project is currently in the California State University's FY 2026-2031 CIP. As of April 22, 2026, information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to fiscal year 2027/2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
