Site work and new construction of a theater / auditorium in Lethbridge, Alberta. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 87,000-square-foot, 950-seat theater / auditorium.
Environmentally-friendly; construction of a Performing Arts Centre (PAC) / multi-purpose / proscenium theatre with a seating capacity of 950. A secondary performance space may also be considered as part of the scope and the project may aim for LEED certification. The facility will be located on the Civic Commons Site (four-square block parcel from 4 Ave. S. to 6 Ave. S, between Stafford Dr. S. & 11 St. S.). Work will include demolition of existing buildings on the site. TIMELINE: Project is in early planning stages. Stantec was engaged to develop a comprehensive site plan for the Civic Commons site that identifies various development scenarios and the necessary infrastructure requirements/projects to support those development scenarios. As the final stage of the comprehensive site plan, the consultant will review existing documentation on the Performing Arts Centre and will development a road map to realize the construction of the facility on the Civic Common Site. A final report is due in fall 2025. Further update may be available in 2026. *Value listed reflects the estimated construction cost of the Performing Arts Centre building only. Total Preliminary Capital Cost Estimate $110,300,000 (2020).
