New construction of a mixed-use development in Lawrence, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 37,500-square-foot conference / convention center; and 150-unit hospitality development.
Site work and new construction for a municipal convention building in Lawrence. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a large convention center which may include supporting buildings for lodging, parking and entertainment. A feasibility study recommended a convention center of up to 37,500 square feet with approximately 12,500 square feet of meeting space. A full-service hotel with at least 150 rooms was also recommended along with a parking garage of at least 650 spaces. An exact scope has not yet been determined. As of May 23, 2022, the feasibility study was completed; however, a developer selection timeline has not been scheduled. Further details regarding design and construction timelines have not been established.
