This project is interconnected with the Eastern Shore Drive Drainage (ESDD) - Phase IB - Lynnhaven Colony Park Pump Station project and the ESDD -Phase ID - Lynnhaven Colony Dr. Pump Station project. The three projects work together to improve stormwater management within the Lynnhaven Colony neighborhood and relieve widespread flooding. Portions of Lynnhaven Colony are located in low lying areas that flood during moderate to severe rain and high. This facility is the main conveyance channel for the Lynnhaven Colony watershed and will provide the necessary hydraulic connections to proposed Lynnhaven Colony Park Pump Station and Lynnhaven Colony Drive Pump Station. This project will construct Phase II drainage improvements for Cape Henry Canal as well as relocate a gravity sanitary sewer from the existing canal to be located within Cape Henry Drive. This project is included in the City of Virginia Beach FY 2022-2027 CIP. As of June 27, 2023, design is underway. A team has not been identified.
