Site work, new construction and renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for the construction of a 107,639-square-foot, three-story above grade, 80-room elderly care / assisted living facility; for site work for a elderly care / assisted living facility; and for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility.

PREQUALIFIED FIRMS only. Phase 1 - Site Work: The existing site for the new building is comprised of 31,000 cubic meters of saturated organic material. Winter months have been deemed most suitable for the removal and backfill of the material. The site work is expected to begin in January 2023 and be completed in spring 2023. Phase 2 - New Build: Construction of a 10,000 sq m, three-storey, Long-Term Care facility with 80 resident rooms, kitchen and living areas, tub rooms, family rooms, a traditional healing space, a serenity room, a commercial kitchen, and Home Care, including wound care, dental, and podiatry suites. This project also includes renovating the existing 16-bed long-term care space to provide increased Health Centre space and improve several program areas, including home care, therapies, an adult day program, and a new hemodialysis unit. The new long-term care facility will be built adjacent to and connected to the existing Health Centre, which will remain open during the renovation work. Phase 2 construction is expected to start following the completion of the site work in summer 2023. Phase 2 construction is expected to be completed in 24 months. Phase 3 - Renovation: Renovation of the areas that the new building will vacate. Transferring and moving programs and equipment to the new build will begin once Phase 2 is completed. Construction in the existing facility is expected to start after the area is properly vacated and transferred to the new facility. *Award amount was not released for publication.
