Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 3,000-unit multi-residential development; and 145,000-square-foot retail development.
Redevelopment of the Shannon Park lands for a mix of residential and commercial use. The community will be located off of Princess Margaret Blvd., Iroquois Drive, and Nootka Ave in Dartmouth. Proposed scope includes: 23 new city blocks; 3,000 residential units of which 20% is expected to be affordable housing; 145,000 square feet of commercial space; and a 16.4 acre public park; and a new transit facility. Redevelopment is in partnership with the Millbrook First Nation. TIMELINE: Project is in conceptual planning stages; square footage represents commercial space only. A development agreement was finalized with the Halifax Regional Municipality in 2023. A preliminary subdivision package is currently under review. Site servicing and infrastructure will be done by Canada Lands Company once final approvals have been secured. Serviced lots/blocks will be sold to other developers/builders for development.
