The low bidder on the subject project is United Building Contractors, Inc. The award of contract is conditioned on approval by the Butte Glenn Community College Board of Directors and the Chancellor’s office. The amount of the award will be $5,897,526. The District tentatively anticipates an April 1st start date 2021. The Technology Building was constructed in 1974 and has 18,175 OGSF (Outside Gross Area).The building is a permanent concrete, steel beam and wood frame structure and construction Building Type is V-NR. The project consists of but is not limited to, upgrading both finishes and building systems to meet current needs and standards and to provide a building that exceeds Title 24 efficiency standards that is fully sprinkled and provides safe school door hardware. The restrooms and exterior pathways and entrances on all sides of the building will be upgraded and made fully ADA compliant. The exterior will be upgraded to include roofing and exterior building skin. Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid Security in an amount equal to TEN PERCENT (10%) of the maximum amount of the Bid Proposal, inclusive of any additive Alternate Bid Item(s). Failure of any Bid Proposal to be accompanied by Bid Security in the form and in the amount required shall render such Bid Proposal to be non-responsive and rejected by the District. Prior to commencement of the Work, the Bidder awarded the Contract shall deliver to the District a Payment Bond and a Performance Bond issued by a California Admitted Surety in the form and content included in the Contract Documents each of which shall be in a penal sum equal to One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Contract Price.
