New construction of an educational facility in Jefferson, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a primary / secondary education facility.
The bids are for a single Prime Contract (civil, general, mechanical and electrical combined) for The New High School and Career Academy located at the corner of Highway 30 and North Grimmell Road in Jefferson, Iowa. The project consists of spaces typical of a New High School, including but not limited to Classrooms, Administration areas, Gymnasium and Athletics, Auditorium Space, Media Center, Student Commons, Food Service, Student Dining, and all related support spaces. Adjacent to the New High School construction, a new Career Academy will be constructed include, but not limited to, welding, machining and welding shop space as well as culinary arts space and house the RAM Restaurant. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis; segregated sub-bids will not be accepted. An architect has been selected and as of January 25, 2018, this project is in design phase and pending the passing of the April 2018 bond vote. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, it is anticipated construction will start in 2nd quarter 2018.
