Sealed bids are invited for the construction of Marshall Area Headquarters Chemical Storage Building PC 501-18130-049 at 8278 Hideaway Rd., Marshall, VA. The project is generally described as construction of an approximate 12,200 SF, 5,000 ton capacity road chemical storage building including site demolition, site development, utilities, foundations, pre-engineered frame-supported membrane building, lighting, and power. A five percent (5%) bid bond is required to accompany this bid. When required bid shall be accompanied by a Commonwealth of Virginia Standard Bid Bond, Form CO-10.2, payable to the Owner as obligee in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Failure to submit the bid bond on the Commonwealth of Virginia Standard Bid Bond, Form CO-10.2 will result in the bid being considered non-responsive. (When bid bonds are requested, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bond.) The submission of a bid will be considered as conclusive evidence that the bidder has made such examination and/or is satisfied as to the conditions to be encountered in performing the work. Procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, withdrawal of bids and other pertinent information are contained in the Instructions to Bidders, which is part of the Invitation for Bids. Withdrawal due to error in bid shall be permitted in accord with Section 9 of the Instructions to Bidders and 2.2-4330, Code of Virginia. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
