New construction of a mixed-use development in Victoria, British Columbia. Design plans call for the construction of a two-story above grade, one-story below grade fitness / recreation center; and swimming pool.
Construction of a new pool and fitness centre to replace the existing facility. The new building will include a 50-metre pool, leisure pool, universal and inclusive change rooms, an expanded fitness area, spaces for events and programs, a community space, and administrative office. TIMELINE: The project is subject to funding being in place. Application for funding to be submitted to the city in the first quarter of 2025. A new feasibility study is being presented to the city for approvals. City residents will also be asked to choose between two replacement options: Building on the existing site, the Central Park North option, or building on an adjacent site, such as the playground at Central Park South. Further update may be confirmed in early summer, 2025.
