Site work for a mixed-use development in Hamilton, Ontario. Design plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and transportation facility.
Design-build-finance-operate-maintain model construction of a 17-stop Light Rapid Transit (LRT) system which will run from McMaster University to Eastgate Square. TIMELINE: Project planning is ongoing. Alliance for Civil and Utilities Works only has been awarded to Hamilton Transit Alliance (Aecon Infrastructure with Hatch, Egis and Systra); details are followed on a separate report. Project now enters an "alliance development phase" to progress designs, costs, and construction schedule; this phase is expected to take approx. 18-24 months. There will be a second procurement which will include stops, rail, and systems. Further update early 2027. *The Province of Ontario has agreed to invest approx. $1.7 billion. *The Government of Canada has agreed to invest approx. $1.7 billion.
